Content With Your Path. Blog #372.

I choose to ride out the times of uncertainty looking for the light or the positive along my path.  Most people can find things they don’t love about their life.  If I am on my intended path, I ignore those negative things.  What allows me to stay the course is prayer, asking Jesus to guide me to the light.

It is amazing what we can endure when we look for something good to carry us through tough times.  Prayer leads me to opportunity and to the light.  The argument is that there is nothing to like about the situation.  When I am on my intended path, I have found light, even in the darkest times.

Prayer leads me to light, but the light is Jesus’ choice, not mine.  I let go of control and let Jesus lead me to the good in the situation, openly accepting the light in my path.

I may not fully understand my path but I know without a doubt that I will be provided what is needed along the way and will be redirected if I go off course.  It is my choice to either follow my dreams or my intended path.

During the loss of my husband, the light was my children.  In the darkness of a job, the light was my customers, boss, or coworkers.  When money was tight an opportunity would blossom.  As my parent’s aged a more suitable house became available for us to purchase.

I have always known I would care for my parents.  It was not something that was asked of me or that I spontaneously agreed to do.  It was something I knew I would be doing since I was a small child.  It was part of my purpose and path.

After years of assisting or caring for my parents, I no longer have that honor.  What surprised me the most was that I didn’t mind being home.  Even after they both passed I did not have a great need to get out of the house.

Believe me, I enjoy running errands, meeting friends, and taking long walks with the dog, but I am also content to be home.  For most of my life, I rarely sat down and my car engine was usually warm.  Hence, a logical statement from many, “It must be wonderful for you to now be able to do what you choose, whenever you choose!”

It is nice to have a flexible schedule.  But the meaningful part is that I was prepared for my purpose.  Content with my path knowing Jesus is in control.
