Acceptance. Blog #381.

Acceptance for many of us is seeing before believing.  But the beauty of our faith is believing without doubt.  There are many things we do in our daily lives that strengthen our faith and the faith of others.

Living life and accepting others with love have proven to be instrumental in my journey.  Not simply saying the right words, but following through with compassion and meaningful actions.

Taking a moment before things get nasty to better understand the perspective of others.  Before saying something I regret, I say a quick prayer for guidance and perspective.  I ask Jesus to speak through me so I better understand.  When I take the time to ground myself with love, my inner peace thrives and compassion runs strong.

Trusting without seeing is something we do when we accept Jesus in our lives.  Love and trust are an integral part of surrendering, as is forgiveness.

Yes, we are forgiven by Jesus, but it is also important to forgive others and to be able to ask forgiveness from others.  Love and forgiveness open the door to pray for all those who have harmed us.  Prayer is an important step in full-circle forgiveness.

Acceptance of our suffering is invaluable to moving us closer to Jesus.  Dr. Issam Nemeh, Path To Faith, encourages us to think about the suffering of Jesus.  Dr. Nemeh accepts and perseveres through all the suffering that he is exposed to because he knows the suffering is refining him to be closer to Jesus.

Not only does Dr. Nemeh endure his own suffering, he also feels the pain of his patients.  It is not a burden for him to accept the suffering because he knows the value and has true faith.

Love, trust, forgiveness, prayer, surrendering, and suffering all bring us closer to Jesus and inner peace.

Acceptance, believing before seeing, stepping out in true faith.
