In life, there are plenty of moments that bring out the negative, but the real test is whether one can move past discouragement and use it as fuel to ignite kindness and compassion. Ignoring the nasty addressing frustrations with love and understanding.
Turning a seemingly negative event into a lesson in building trust. Most of us have moments of frustration, but I don’t let those moments take over my life. I learn from my mistakes, but I don’t linger in discouragement.
Think about a time when you have been around someone who lives their life frustrated and stressed. We can lend a listening ear, but rarely is the burden of the frustration gone after a conversation with a human. It is helpful and might lessen the burden, but the issue is not always solved.
When momentary discouragement sets in, I immediately give it away. It is not helpful to me and creates a roadblock to my inner peace. The first thing I do is stop and change course. I move to prayer. There is no reason for me to carry that frustration.
Whatever I did to create stress and frustration, in prayer, I ask for forgiveness. Before I receive an answer to my prayer, I thank Jesus for guiding my path. There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus will resolve the issue.
Next, I listen for solutions and opportunities to the momentary discouragement. When my stress and frustration levels are high, I might have to give the issue to Jesus numerous times. But I have found that if I am able to release the issue to Jesus, he provides the solution.
When I falter, it is my issue. Even when I am responding to someone else’s stress, it is my responsibility to respond with kindness, compassion, and understanding. To accomplish that, I must be centered in prayer.
I challenge myself daily to look beyond discouragement, centering myself in love, compassion, and kindness.
