You need to love yourself before you can find fulfillment. It starts from within.
Courage
It takes courage to begin self-evaluation. Taking a look at what you like about yourself, and what you wish you could change, can be very challenging. Looking at yourself with an open mind and a clear perspective is essential. Some tend to take an overly negative approach to self-evaluation and some lack the ability to see their weaknesses. Stepping back and looking at yourself takes courage, I always pray for clarity in that process.
Happiness
Joy and happiness start from within. To experience joy in your life, you have to be open to happiness. Being open means a willingness to change your filtering process to look for the good. To move past the negative things that life has dealt you and work with your God-given strengths and talents.
Caring
If you are able to open your filtering process and allow joy in your life you have also opened up an opportunity to increase your willingness to care for and about others. I find that the joy within a person brings out nurturing qualities. When you are happy you radiate joy. As you radiate joy, people are drawn to you and there is more opportunity to care for those around you. You have to be willing to open up and allow your heart to bless those around you.
Trust
As you begin to become more courageous, radiate joy, and nurture others, it will start to be easier to trust. If trust is scary for you, pray for opportunities to begin to trust in small ways. That might mean delegating responsibility to an employee at work. Or maybe you trust a friend with some personal information that will not harm you if the information is misused. As you see that you are choosing the right people to trust, you will be more open to trusting others. If things did not go so well in the area of trust, evaluate what went wrong and pray for more opportunities to trust in small ways.
Anger
Whenever there is a problem that arises, I first look at what I contributed to the issue. I find that if I take a step back and evaluate why I am angry, the healing process becomes easier. I find that once I know the “why,” it is easier for me to give the issue to God and move on with everyday life. Releasing anger starts from within.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness starts from within and is part of the healing process. Forgiveness is imperative to feeling good about yourself and feeling free of past baggage. Once you learn to forgive you expand your ability to love and open your heart to new experiences. If you are bitter and hold on to negative feelings it is very difficult to find joy and to experience life to its fullest.
Love
As you gain courage, radiate joy, nurture, and trust others, control your anger, and encourage forgiveness, you will also begin to spread love to others. I am referring to love for others in your heart. I pray daily for opportunities to spread love, kindness, and attention. Opening your heart to love starts from within you.
