Resistance. Blog #354.

Should we or shouldn’t we, the question of resistance.  As we hold on to control what we do and don’t resist, becomes ours to decipher.  When we let Jesus take the reins, we simply follow the path of peace.

Giving control to Jesus is simple, but not always easy for those of us who like to know where we are going.  In this case, we are totally surrendering to Jesus and the path he intends for us to follow.

It is likely we might not want to do some of the things on that path.  We might even veer off course.  If our intentions are good with patience we will have an opportunity to rejoin our path and regain our peace.

Trouble sets in when we have resistance from our minds.  Not fully being able to forgive, trust, love, believe, and surrender.

Forgiveness is important for both ourselves and for those involved.  Whether or not forgiveness is received is not as important as that it is given, freeing our mind and eliminating resistance.  Who is at fault is not the issue, forgiveness is the priority.

Resistance creeps in when we don’t fully trust.  We then start to worry and become fearful.  Worry, stress, and fear disappear when we have unwavering trust.

Living life with love allows us to have connections.  With love there is trust.  Lack of compassion and love are signs of resistance and roadblocks to finding inner peace.

When we resist our faith we are letting fear take over.  Fear eliminates our ability to trust, love, and forgive.  Faith allows us to believe before we see.  Resistance becomes paralyzing.

Many of us find it difficult to give up total control.  But for me, it is more challenging to live with stress and worry.  The moment I give my worries to Jesus and surrender, peace fills my body.  When I feel stress return, I immediately move to prayer thanking Jesus for taking the worries and leading me to solutions.

No matter our religion or lack thereof, our free will allows us to make choices. If we choose to live with compassion, Jesus can’t resist us. When we incorporate forgiveness, trust, love, faith, and surrender to Jesus, we find inner peace.

When we find inner peace we know that we have resisted temptation and connected with Jesus.
