Sharing is more complex than meets the eye. Often when we think of sharing worry sets in and fear becomes immobilizing. We allow worry and fear to overpower the joys of sharing.
Why is learning to share as a child so important? Because every day we make decisions based on our willingness to share. Our daily decisions include sharing things, information, time, assistance, conversation, space, feelings and so much more.
There are times when I think I am forthcoming about sharing information with others. I give my time and assistance but am I giving with my heart? Sharing what is in our heart includes stepping out in faith.
Why is it hard to reach out and share? Maybe because we start to think about all that went into our accomplishments and the effort it took to reach our goals. Fear and worry start to emerge. If I share the secrets of my success will others outperform me?
I try to remember that sharing personal secrets to success provides an opportunity for growth for everyone involved. As you mentor and watch others grow, it’s powerfully rewarding to know that you have been a part of their journey. You may not be rewarded here on earth for sharing, but I certainly believe that your deeds will not go unnoticed by Jesus!
How do I go about sharing with others? I believe it’s as simple as showing love. It’s living your life with love in your heart for one another.
Although my faith has always been strong, faith in combination with love is a very powerful tool. When I broadened my definition of love I began to experience an inability to feel hate or long-term anger.
There have been many times I have thought, wow, I am surprised I am not angry about that situation. Thinking to myself that I like living my life with this expanded definition of love.
But it wasn’t until I experienced a rather hurtful time in my life that I truly realized the power of having love in your heart. When you look at a situation that was hurtful and can say that you have no hate, anger, or issues in your heart regarding the person or thing, God is good.
There was an incredible moment of peace that came over me when I knew that love in my heart was stronger than any type of hate. Sharing that love is easy if you are willing to open your heart. As you live out your daily life with a perspective of love, your path opens up and joy is abundant. Love and faith shine and sharing becomes effortless.
Now is the time to share. To share experiences with those around you, to share your thoughts, to share your feelings, and to share your heart.
Share with the hope of helping others along their path. When you do, a whole new path opens up for you. Share and trust in Jesus!
