Why Fight Peace? Blog #188.

There is a lot going on in the world, way too much fighting and turmoil for my liking.  I choose peace.  That doesn’t mean I ignore what is going on around the world but it does mean that I don’t allow the events to bring unnecessary stress, anxiety, and depression to my life.

As we watch television and interact with social media it is difficult to keep emotions in check.  We get drawn in and before we even realize our emotions drift and worry surfaces.  It is difficult to find a balance between having awareness and concern for what is going on around us and not allowing depression to take control of our minds and actions.

As I become aware of events around us my thoughts first go to prayer.  I ask the Holy Spirit to come in the name of Jesus and the Blessed Mother.  I give thanks to them for watching out for all those involved.  I pray for continued guidance in restoring hope to those who so desire.

I then trust that the events that take place will ultimately lead us to God’s plan.  I am ready to accept that there will likely be more turmoil and great sacrifice.  I have faith and trust that God’s plan will prevail.

As the unrest continues it is important for me to have love in my heart.  To be willing to open my heart and to give and receive forgiveness.  I repeatedly ask Jesus for forgiveness.  As I go about living life I find myself remembering situations that I did not handle as well as I would have liked.  I pray and ask for forgiveness for those situations as well.  I ask for forgiveness and surrender to Jesus.

I am aware of and have empathy for all that is going on in the world, but I concentrate on future world peace.  I choose to trust that good will prevail.  I have trust in God’s plan.  I continually ask Jesus, “What is it that you ask of me?”

With trust, love, forgiveness, and faith peace will prevail.
