In life, I look to avoid tricks and strengthen the treats. This chaotic world does not make it easy to identify tricks and treats.
Tricks are often wrapped in beautiful packaging looking too good to be true. Sometimes we convince ourselves that the beauty is real, but deep down we know what’s in the package is not authentic.
We might sense that something is off but still want to hold onto the dream that it is real and kind. Disregarding the pit in our stomachs, forging forward through the mud until we hit the dead end.
Hindsight tells us that we were walking the wrong path and shows us all the warnings we missed. If we are fortunate we learn from our mistakes and ask for forgiveness for all the tricks.
Treats are all around us, but sometimes hard for us to see. Often the packaging is simple and easily overlooked. We don’t have to convince ourselves that treats are authentic, because we know from our inner peace.
For me, it is a treat to live with peace, love, compassion, trust, and forgiveness. I also highly value a good sense of humor. When I center myself on love, living is a treat and I am not often tricked.
Love and compassion allow us to live with a sense of peace. When living life with inner peace it is much easier to identify tricks.
As long as I stay centered in peace I am able to have compassion for those tricks. It is hard for any tricks to be successful when approached with love. I become more understanding regarding the trick and if it becomes toxic I quietly remove myself from the situation.
Through prayer, I am able to center myself with a perspective of love and compassion. It helps me navigate away from the tricks and opens the door for the treats.
Life will bring us tricks. We must understand the tools to help us move through the tricks and turn them into treats.
