Totality, what a breathtaking experience to see the total eclipse. From those who were able to experience it live, people described it as being so peaceful.
I agree, as darkness moved in nature became silent and allowed all those participating to experience the stillness. Many of us experienced a beautiful glow at the base of the horizon, adding to the spectacular event.
I couldn’t help but see similarities in totality and how we lead our lives as believers. Similar to the peace people experienced during the 4 minutes of totality, giving control to Jesus opens the door to living in peace daily. Surrendering to Jesus allows you the opportunity to experience inner peace.
People were overcome with peace for a few short minutes during totality. Most of the news stations reported on the experience, the calmness, the silence, and the feelings of peace. Reporters were commenting that people did not want the moment to end. Individuals were hanging on to those 4 minutes of peace.
I understand why people were reluctant to let go of the feelings that overcame them during totality. Being addicted to peace I relate to wanting to hold on to that calmness.
Knowing that I can live with inner peace every day gives me the strength to move forward. Living with love, compassion, kindness, and trust makes you irresistible to Jesus. Inner peace exists within me as I move through life with love.
Sometimes we are like a partial eclipse, moving through life with good intentions but not yet at totality. Finding ourselves doing a lot of the “right” things, but holding on to control. Fighting stress and worry ourselves rather than surrendering those issues to Jesus through prayer.
Viewing totality was an incredible experience. Feelings of peace overcame many for a few short minutes. Living life with love brings constant inner peace, and that feeling of totality can again be yours.
