Inclusion. Blog #338.

As I prepare for a celebration of freedom I look forward to a time of unity and inclusion.  Being inclusive to all, yet refueling in the comfort of those who understand me.  Surrounding myself with people who are like-minded and live with love.

Other than my children and my father, I rarely see those who know me the best.  Those who unconditionally accept me for who I am understand that we don’t have to see or talk to each other to stay connected.

Our community has an incredible celebration for July 4th.  Most years the celebration continues throughout the weekend.  It is tradition to celebrate with people in the community and with those closest to us.

There is a core group of people that despite the condition of my house, food, beverages, or the weather that mother nature provides, I know we are going to enjoy some laughs and each other.

On a daily basis, Jesus is my fuel.  But it is that core group of people that unconditionally love and refuel my soul.  Additionally, it is refreshing to enjoy time with people who are able to enjoy the moment.

This weekend brings together a diverse group of people from the community and is refreshingly inclusive to all who join the holiday celebration.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all experienced that type of acceptance 365 days a year by those we encounter?

As we move through the holiday I challenge us all to look for opportunities to facilitate unity and kindness.  To encourage inclusion of those who sit on the periphery.

As I look forward to a time of community, family, and friends I pray that freedom prevails and unity brings a feeling of inclusion for all.

God bless you, God bless America, God bless unity among all.
