Living In The Moment. Blog #246.

As my children enter their senior year of high school I have been answering this question often, What are you going to do when the girls go off to college?  My real answer is the same thing I have been doing my whole life, following Jesus.  I have never known what I was going to do next or why I was following a certain path.

I always have my eyes open to opportunities that present themselves.  But I am not a person with a set plan for my life, other than serving Jesus.  I live in the moment and trust that I will be led down my intended path

It is difficult for me when I am required to articulate my goals and dreams.  Serving Jesus is not a typical answer.  I live in the moment because I know what God has planned for me is far superior to what I could dream for myself.

Throughout my life, there were things I thought would make a good career or places that I might like to travel to, but all seemed rather meaningless in comparison to following Jesus’ plan for me.

Living in the moment allows me to be open to the opportunities that are presented.  Those opportunities have allowed me to travel on business and work in cities I would have never thought possible.

Thank you to Path To Faith for highlighting this topic during an online healing service this weekend.  Dr. Nemeh talked about living his life in the moment, not in the past or the future.  Living in the moment without worry

When my late husband died I made a decision to live in the moment, not in the past.  I loved my life, but that life was no longer available.  Day by day I trusted Jesus to lead me.  I have great memories but choose not to dwell on what was, but move forward with the present.  My life continues to blossom through Jesus.

I do pray for a clear path to follow, but I don’t worry about the future.  My future is in good hands.  I trust without a doubt that I will move through whatever the future delivers.  God has a plan for each of us.  I trust that plan and will continue to live in the moment.
