Simplicity. Blog #297.

If you want to become closer to Jesus, it is simple.  Not always easy, but very simple.  It starts with love.

Difficult things are going to happen, issues are going to arise, problems will need to be solved.  Those are all things that happen in our daily lives.

The difference is how we approach what comes at us each day.  What is our perspective?  Are we able, under all circumstances, to keep focused on love?

Problems come to all of us in different ways at different times, and often they are only visible to us who endure them.  Rarely do we see into the problems, issues, and hurting of others.  We see functioning people around us living life.  We don’t see all the baggage unless it is visible to the eye.

Most of us have issues, concerns, and problems, that we are dealing with daily.  Money doesn’t solve those issues.  It can be helpful, but it doesn’t solve them.  It doesn’t bring us health, inner strength, or clarity.  Of course, money enables us to have a roof over our heads, clothes on our bodies, and food in our stomachs.  All those things help us survive. However, money is not the answer to inner peace.

When you live your life with love, it opens the door to hope, peace, and faith.  There are tools that can facilitate our journey with Jesus.

Prayer is a tool that allows us a direct line to Jesus.  He hears us.   His solution might be different than what we hope, but we are heard.   When we allow ourselves time to patiently listen for answers and opportunities around us, our intended path develops before us.  Sometimes we stray from our path.  But if we’re praying and listening, and have love in our hearts, opportunity will lead us back to our intended path.

It is always helpful to have a thankful, grateful heart. I am thankful to Jesus for each opportunity and each struggle put before me.  My path would have been much simpler if I had a better understanding of The Bible earlier in my life.  The opportunity was there for me, but I did not take advantage of the lessons or I simply was not ready.  My faith was strong early in my life.  I never saw the need for more information because my faith was unwavering.  I was wrong to underestimate the power of additional knowledge.  Many crossroads would have been facilitated with better understanding.

Churches are another tool that I have underutilized.  They are a place to worship, learn, grow, and gain fellowship.  A place to praise God and serve others while strengthening our relationship with Jesus.

Money can’t buy inner peace.   It is available to all who are willing to live through a perspective of love.

Love, prayer, peace, and Jesus!

It is that simple.
