Path To Compassion. Blog #447.

When we look at somebody through the eyes of Jesus, we look at someone with compassion.  We see through the hurt, the pain, the suffering, the anger, and we see the light.

We refrain from making judgments and intentionally move to understanding.  When we approach things from the perspective of love, we have prepared our minds to do so with compassion.

My actions are purposeful and intentional.  I start my day asking Jesus how I can serve him.  How can I be helpful?  What is it that I can do for others today?

I don’t normally get an answer immediately, but throughout the day various opportunities arise.  I may miss those opportunities if my mind is listening to the noise around me.

I do my best throughout the entire day to stay focused on compassion.  When I combine being thankful, prayerful, and living with love, opportunities to serve others often surface.

As I move through my day, I pray for people who cross my path.  That includes people whom I drive by, those who seem to be struggling in some way, those who look challenged by a task, those who are assisting someone, those who are celebrating something, etc.

When my focus is not centered on me, but on all God’s creations, I find abundant ways to spread kindness.  When I am worried or stressed about my life, all I can think about is me.

Stress and worry disrupt compassion and love.  There are things that I am concerned about, but I don’t allow stress and worry to steal my joy.  I never want to miss an opportunity to serve others because I can’t see through all the chaos of life.  I give my worries to Jesus, making room for compassion.

I like to start my day asking Jesus how I can be helpful, allowing myself to cultivate a clear path to compassion.
