I believe that God prepares us for whatever life events we encounter. For myself, I see very clearly how God has used every experience to better prepare me for what life has dealt. I was not able to see how these experiences would help me in the moment, it is hindsight that has allowed me to see how valuable each crazy step has been to my life thus far. There were countless times when I wanted to alter what I knew was my path. I stayed the course and have always believed that these crazy things that I did not…
Some might take it as a bit delusional, but no matter the circumstances I choose the upside. I understand many people have lived through more pain and suffering than I have, but I have yet to find a time when light was absent. Each hiccup gives us an opportunity to become stronger or stressed. When I tell my kids to look for the light, the positive, the upside, they often reply, “What upside?” Often, it is hard to see the rainbow through the storm, but if one searches for light, I believe one will always find hope. Prayer is my…
Each of us has a purpose in life. It is unlikely that we will leave this earth before our purpose is fulfilled. The difficult part is we don’t usually know our purpose. As we walk our intended path, it becomes clearer, but it is often not disclosed. As I become more prayerful my path becomes more clear. That doesn’t mean I understand my purpose or have a clear direction regarding God’s plan for me. But I am able to better move forward as I wait for the plan to be unveiled. When I surrender control to Jesus…
God pushes us to achieve our full potential revealing our hidden strengths and molding us for our purpose. The more I rely on Jesus the more strength and potential I reveal. Through prayer, I let go of the things I think are right for me and give control to Jesus. Walking away from what I want to do to follow my intended path. Leaving some of my dreams behind believing that Jesus will guide me to my purpose. Being open to God’s plan is wonderful. Blindly accepting my path before knowing my purpose is challenging. The most difficult part…
It is time to stop letting the chaos into my life and be still. Leaning on prayer to lead me to my daily purpose. Living in the moment not letting the past define me or the future scare me. Focusing on Jesus is the best way I know to be still. I focus on prayer and then listen. For me, prayer is the easy part. Welcoming in the Holy Spirit is the place I start, continuing with thanking Jesus for dwelling within and healing my soul. I trust that he will guide and heal me so thanking him in advance…
I will speak for myself and say that although I would love to be without flaws, my list of things I wish I had not done or said is rather extensive. There are those sins that I immediately see, some that I see when reflecting upon the past, and I am certain there are plenty that have gone unnoticed. Flaws that I immediately notice are the easiest to resolve. I ask forgiveness from Jesus and pray that I can find the right words when apologizing to those I have hurt with my words or actions. Also praying for an opportunity…
There are times when it is difficult to remember to stay out of the path of jealousy. Looking at those around us thinking, “If only that were me or if only I had that opportunity.” I quickly move to prayer and center my mind on my intended path, knowing that if I stay the course my path will be far better than I could have imagined. Each time I move in my intended direction my inner peace strengthens. It is that inner peace that helps me understand how important it is that I walk my path. If I begin to…
I feel I am in a constant state of refinement. Praying to be shown all the events in my life for which I need forgiveness. A work in progress striving to live my life with love and inner peace. Often my life is replayed in front of me. I’ll see signs of things that I should’ve done differently. Through prayer, I ask to be shown what it is I need to refine, improve, and concentrate on regarding my faith, love, and service to Jesus. With patience, I am shown specific situations where I have done something that was…
Living with inner peace and abundant love brings out a beautiful perspective for the Christmas season. I can see the beauty in God’s creation. Letting go of a challenging day to find joy in all the small wonders of the season. Despite all the challenges going on in the world it is a time to unite and be grateful for the gift God delivered through Jesus. A time to be thankful for the birth of Jesus and the opportunity we all have to surrender control and be forgiven for our sins. A season that reminds us that all we…
What is it that we do when we question the direction we should follow, do I or don’t I? Often we think about the positive and negative consequences. We might write down the pros and cons, and then evaluate the list. Sometimes we might look at the alternatives as impossible. What I have found is that when the direction is from Jesus, I am at peace. The issues disappear and the solutions present themselves so long as I hand over control. That doesn’t mean I don’t do anything. It means that if I am prayerful and open…
