Fulfilled By Faith. Blog #11

One of the many blessings of having strong faith is the feeling of being fulfilled.  Fulfilled with what you have in the present and accepting what life has dealt you.

We all have a unique history, some more tragic than others.  Accepting what we are dealt with is much easier when we trust in God and have faith.

Strong faith brings a level of fulfillment, a level of accepting what you are given and working with those tools.  Acceptance brings a level of being content with what you have and an ability to let things fall into place.

It was my faith that allowed me to let go of the life I had with my husband upon his sudden death. I knew that he was with God and accepted that he was in a far better place.  I had to move on to the present.  I had two 15-month-old children that needed my attention and I had a Foundation to run.  My faith allowed me to accept that the past was gone and that the present needed my attention.

The life I had with my husband was amazing.  Sometimes I would wonder what I did to deserve the life we had together.  After his death, I had to move on so I did not neglect the present.  I needed to raise two children and I needed to continue to keep the Foundation business running profitably.

I have not forgotten my life with my husband, I simply put it in the bank of amazing memories.  As a family, we honor him as often as possible.  It might be through a story I tell the girls or a certain food that he liked or didn’t like. We continue to honor him yet we are living in the present.

The same is true with being fulfilled as a person without a partner.  I enjoyed marriage and sharing my life with someone, but I have also been fulfilled as a person without a partner for the last 12 years.  I rely on my faith to direct me down my intended path and for my ability to be content with what I have been given.

Accepting the life I have does not mean that I don’t have goals and dreams.  It means that my faith has provided me the strength to walk the path that I have been given.  It means that I accept each roadblock in life with the faith that God has my back.  I am fulfilled in my life because I choose to have faith in God.
