Hope. Blog #50.

Some people don’t believe in hope or have given up on hope, but for me, my whole life is centered around hope.  I can’t imagine my life without hope.  I count on hope.  I believe in hope.  I thank God for hope.

I will admit that I do anticipate that something good will come out of my struggles.  Maya Angelou often referred to a song with the lyrics, When it looked like the sun wasn’t gonna shine anymore, God put a rainbow in the clouds.  Sometimes it takes time to discover the rainbow, but every cloud has led me to an amazing rainbow if I search for the good.

The death of my husband was sudden, it was unexpected, and it turned my life upside-down.  I knew that the only option for me was to move forward, I had two 15-month-old children to raise.  It was hope and my faith that brought me the strength to move forward.

It would have been easy to dwell in the past, but that would not have been a healthy alternative.  I searched for my intended path.

I knew that there was a reason my life changed directions.  I would not have chosen to make this change, but it was my path and it has been a path that has been filled with a much different joy.  There have been plenty of struggles among the joy.  It is hope and faith that has enabled me to see the rainbows.  Without hope, I may have only seen the clouds.

I pray and give thanks for the hope that exists in my life and my belief system.  Hope continues to build my belief in the power of God.  Hope and faith are things I count on and am very grateful are abundantly available for all of us to utilize if we so desire.

To me, a life without hope would be very dark.  I choose hope because it is positive, it gives me energy, strength, and a reason to smile.  Without it, I would not be where I am today.  Hope can make a cloudy day filled with sun.  As Maya Angelou said, “Go put a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”
