Prayer Time. Blog #221.

Although God hears all our prayers, that doesn’t mean our prayers are answered in the manner we desire or on our timeline.  I am careful what I ask for in prayer because prayers are answered.   I remember one prayer in particular that was answered exactly how I asked.  One would think I would be happy, but it worked out terribly.  It was a lesson to remember.

I have learned to pray for God’s will.  God has a plan for us, a path, and if we choose to walk the path and stay the course in good times and bad, we will ultimately be rewarded.  I pray about many things and for many people but normally my prayers are simple.

Sometimes I pray for the right opportunity to present itself and that the person will be open to the idea.  Other times I pray regarding a specific issue asking Jesus to heal the issue in his way.

For me, prayer is spontaneous throughout the day.  It helps me focus on love and kindness.  When things are crazy or I am angry, I go to prayer to refocus on what is important.  I focus on Jesus.

When I pray for others, I find that I am better able to look past my problems.  It moves me away from thinking about all the small things in my life that might take me off track.  It centers my thoughts on serving others and brings me peace.

I thank Jesus throughout the day for all the prayers that have been answered and all the blessings that unfold.  As I pray, I also thank Jesus.  I am thankful before I see any results.  I have no idea how my prayers will be answered, but I know Jesus has my back.

Prayers are answered using God’s timeline.  It takes patience to wait for direction.  I often wonder if I missed a sign or strayed off path.  I refocus on prayer and ask for direction.  For me, the results have always been worth the wait.

Last but not least, I pray often.  I made a decision to be more prayerful.  In the beginning, I prayed a few times a day.  Each day I find more opportunities to engage in prayer.  It has become a significant part of my day and continues to be a priority.

Prayer time is often!  I focus on others and kindness and love.  I am thankful and realize that prayers are answered in God’s time.
