State Of Mind. Blog #228.

This past weekend I listened to Dr. Issam Nemeh speak regarding the importance of our “state of mind.”  I was not able to take notes, but I thought I would share some of the things that I thought were very powerful.

The fight is in the mind.

We have so much information and noise attacking us it is difficult to stay focused.  It is easy to be thrown off track and often the result is increased anxiety, anger, and stress.  I am intentional in redirecting my mind to focus on love

I am not going to lie, at first, it is not easy to redirect frustration and anger, it takes effort to clear your mind and refocus on love.  As soon as my mind shifts to anger I remind myself that I am not the one to judge

For me, the hardest part is catching myself and changing my mindset before the nasty anger reveals itself.  I know that if my mind is focused on love, I have given control back to Jesus.  When I am focused on love compassion surfaces and I better understand that there is much that I don’t know about the situation.

Pray for the people who are hurting you.

I am addicted to the feeling of peace that flows through my body when I use prayer to fight conflict.  When feeling attacked I pray for the person or issue and ask for guidance, forgiveness, and opportunity.

I know when I am coming from a perspective of love because I don’t have any feelings of hate.  I may not like the situation, but I am able to separate that from the person.  Forgiveness makes way for opportunity.  Forgiving myself for my part in the situation and my mind forgiving all those involved.

Spirit will talk through you.

When you have the right state of mind you are able to move through bad situations.  It doesn’t eliminate the problem, but it does bring peace to the conflict.  Problems will exist, but solutions will surface.  Love opens the door for the Holy Spirit to communicate through you.

The fight is in the mind.  Love is my state of mind.
