How is it that you recharge your battery? What is it that you do to get yourself back on track and refocused on your priorities?
Most of us can probably relate to times when we put our heads down and charge through the responsibilities that are in front of us. Those times can be challenging and push us off focus. However, there can also be times when we dig deep and rely on our strengths.
First, I have to recognize that I am in need of being recharged. Often life is so busy that we don’t take the time to center ourselves on what we value the most. Are we really spending our time and effort in areas that are productive and in line with our priorities?
If my priorities are my faith, family, and then my career, am I keeping that focus? For me, the moment I feel stressed and worried I know that my priorities are off.
Faith is first in my life. If I keep centered on Jesus, am prayerful, and focus on love, stress, and worry are not a part of my life. The moment stress creeps in I ramp up my prayers and give it all to Jesus.
For me, stress and worry are a sign that I have taken back some control. My prayers focus on surrendering to Jesus and asking for direction. I know when I have given back control because I regain that feeling of peace that I so love.
When I start to feel out of control, that is when I need to give control back to Jesus. Many times it is easier to pull back and attempt to control everything ourselves. It is easier because we do what we want. But easier does not mean successful, satisfying, or peaceful.
That plan never brings closure to my stress or success. People recharge their batteries in a variety of ways. If stress and worry are cluttering your life, try finding a new way to recharge your battery.
