The Joy Of Loving. Blog #438.

As I walk through my day, one of the things I cherish most is the mindset of joy in loving the things around me; no pretending, only truthful love.

From the moment I wake up, I am grateful for the day ahead of me.  Giving thanks for the ability to move through the day in peace and from a perspective of love.

Allowing myself moments to soak in all of God’s beauty.  Admiring nature as I walk the dog.  Taking in the trees, flowers, sky, and all the living creatures that are a gift to us, created by God.  Allowing that joy to settle in and ground my day.  Being grateful for the warm sun, the chilly breeze, the cloudy days, and the thunderstorms.

Moving through my day, allowing myself opportunity after opportunity to see joy even when things aren’t going my way.  I might not be feeling my best, I might not have transportation to where I need to go, I might have a large investment to make in something for my home or for my children, but I focus on the ability to center myself in Jesus and know that he has my back.  Trusting that opportunities and solutions will come forward as my trust strengthens.

I take great joy and comfort in knowing that Jesus is first on my list.  All other tasks fall into place when he is my priority, so long as I trust, love, and am compassionate to those around me.

I don’t allow myself to doubt that opportunity will present itself.  Nor do I allow myself to doubt that I am capable of doing whatever task is at hand.  I don’t allow myself to lose sight of Jesus being at the core of all my possibilities and all my joy.

If I start doubting myself, my peace disappears.  When I doubt that I can move forward with the task or when I give up on myself, I have also given up on Jesus’s ability to work through me.

I know how I get my joy, it’s through Jesus.  It’s through putting him first, always.  From never doubting that an opportunity will present itself when it’s needed and knowing it will be in God‘s time.  Giving control to Jesus, giving Jesus my life, serving him, and in turn serving others, that is my recipe for walking and living in peace, joy, and initiating everything with love.

The moment I forget to include Jesus, love, and compassion, I feel disengaged and distracted.  I don’t like that feeling, and move quickly to prayer, reigniting my relationship with Jesus and focusing on love.

Joy and love are abundant when I include Jesus in every area of my life.
