Overcome Darkness. Blog #460.

Our will is capable of overcoming darkness and temptation, as negative signals are attacking us from every angle.  It is a full-time job keeping ahead of the noise and chaos around us.  Being close to Jesus doesn’t protect us from attacks, but it equips us with armor.

Jesus wants us all-in, not lukewarm about our faith.  When we are serious about our faith, we can draw from the Bible the protection we need against Evil.  The armor is most often found in Scripture and prayer.

When we feel drawn to darkness or repeatedly bombarded with annoying things hindering our progress, the Devil is likely wearing us down.  Jesus will not lead us into darkness; he patiently waits for us to draw on his strength.

Those close to Jesus are not immune to suffering, but that journey often leads to a closer relationship with Jesus.  Leaning on Jesus through prayer and the Word.  He is always looking for us to be as close to him as possible.

There are endless things that can take us off track.  Some innocent examples include finding ourselves in the middle of gossip, being part of a group that is not inclusive, and allowing numerous hiccups in life to develop into anger.

Yet we can choose to turn the darkness to light by changing the conversation, removing ourselves from the negativity, including those around us, accepting our consequences, and allowing ourselves to live with love and inner peace.

We are living in a time when darkness can easily lead us down a troublesome path.  Our feet need to be planted deeply in what we believe.  Love, compassion, kindness, and understanding are all things that help us make decisions that lead to light and peace.

Jesus has provided us with the armor, will, and actions to overcome darkness, as we strive to move toward the light.
