One of the most positive things we can do for ourselves is to live our lives with complete forgiveness. Forgiveness for ourselves and forgiveness for others, both are important to our mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. If someone accepts our forgiveness that improves the overall well-being of the other person, too.
Have you experienced a complete rewind of your life? Maybe a dream that takes you back to past things that you have experienced or done, some of the things might not have been so favorable.
I like to think that those are times and opportunities for me to ask for forgiveness for some of the crazy things that I have done. Many were initiated with good intentions, but in hindsight not such good decisions.
I say a prayer asking for forgiveness and direction in how to proceed. Often the acknowledgment and request for forgiveness are enough, but other times opportunity will arise for me to bring closure to the issue.
An incredible story of forgiveness from The Bible is that of Joseph being sold into slavery by his brothers, and ending up in a position under Pharaoh in Egypt. One might imagine him being bitter towards his brothers, but he chose forgiveness. Telling his brothers that it was Jesus’ chosen path for him to gain the knowledge and experience he needed for his future. Despite the difficult journey, Joseph was equipped to take care of his brothers and all of Egypt.
It is amazing that we too can trust, love, and forgive in the same manner as Joseph. Sold into slavery and housed in a dungeon, yet able to understand that it was all part of his journey. Accepting his suffering and content with his journey, forgiveness was abundant.
Forgiveness brings an opportunity to share love, compassion, and kindness. All things that I require in my life. For every dream or vision that I have from my past life, I immediately pray and ask forgiveness.
I choose to focus on forgiveness and live with love.
