A Time For Reassurance. Blog #122.

We are experiencing a time when reassuring people with a hug is limited to your immediate isolation “family.”  It is a time when many of us need that closeness, but some of our normal avenues of comfort are not readily available to us.

Looking at my own family I am incredibly impressed at how they have adapted to what has been imposed on all of us these past few months.  Although none of us know what is in our future, I find myself giving reassurance that we will embrace whatever becomes our new normal.

I see a world full of very resilient people.  A world where people are reaching out to help their neighbors.  A time when communities are uniting together to celebrate accomplishments and milestones.  Moments where we realize we are experiencing things that are “firsts” in our lifetime.  A time when people are daily experiencing things outside of their normal routine.

Although we are very resilient people, this time of uncertainty brings anxiety to many of us.  It is not always easy to recognize anxiety.  It can sneak up on us and it can be deeply hidden within us.

Recognizing that someone needs reassurance or support in overcoming their doubts and fears is often hard to see.  Taking time to listen to what others are saying and being observant of their everyday behavior are two ways we can be alert to signs that extra love and support are needed.

I pray that I will be alert to the needs of those around me and will be present and open to listening to their doubts and fears.  I ask that God will carry us through these tough times and continue to strengthen our faith

As our nations begin to open anxiety will continue as will the need for reassurance.  Reassurance for our family, friends, and those in need.  My ultimate reassurance comes from God.  I give my worries, doubts, and fears to God and am open to opportunities that arise guiding me down my intended path
