Never Give Up. Blog #284

All my life I have had a never-give-up attitude.  That doesn’t mean that I have not made changes along the way or that I haven’t passed up opportunities that I once thought were for me.  But I have been very grateful to have lived my life thus far with the attitude that all things are possible.

I don’t give up if it doesn’t work out the way I had hoped.  Praying through the obstacles I give thanks for just about everything.  Trusting that when the time is right, the opportunity will open up if I continue to pursue the challenge.  There were times when I was fairly sure the opportunity was not for me, but I would pursue the challenge until I knew that a more suitable alternative was in my path.

Then there have been countless times that I have known I was walking the right path yet that door closed time after time.  Quitting is not an option for me.   It is not in my thought process.  When a door closes I do everything I can to prepare and try again when the next opportunity arises.

It never occurred to me to be embarrassed about not achieving something or not being chosen as a winner.  Of course, I was disappointed when not chosen, but I had no thoughts of missing school or the activity due to embarrassment.  I am at peace with the process and persevere until I feel a new opportunity arises.

Whether it is a person, a position, an activity, a decision, etc., having a never-give-up attitude helps get us through today and look forward to tomorrow.  In direct marketing and network marketing, it is often said that when you feel like you want to give up, keep working.  A “yes” or opportunity might be revealed on your next call.

I may not have traveled all the right paths thus far in my life, but I am purposeful in prayer which guides me through my journey.  I know not to give up on others, not to give up on opportunities, and surely not to give up on Jesus!  Joy is right around the corner.
