The Games We Play. Blog #317.

As we go through life, we have a lot of choices to make and we have an opportunity to play games or to pass.  There are games that we were meant to play and others for which we should stay clear.

Although I occasionally enjoy a game with friends and family, it has not been something I frequently find myself partaking in.  What I love about taking the time to play a game with others is that it allows us an opportunity to spend quality time together.  It’s a time to learn more about each other and win or lose a time to learn how to have fun while competing with those you love.

It is the game of manipulation that creates stress, tension, anxiety, worry, etc, that I would like to live without.  When I think about why someone initiates games of manipulation my thoughts center on the lack of love—the lack of love for themselves, and the lack of love and respect of others.

When I think about the energy it takes to manipulate different situations, I get exhausted. I quickly move to how simple it is to love.

The moment my mind deviates from kindness, I slip into prayer.  I concentrate on compassion, kindness, and love. My body moves from tension to peace.

In a state of peace, I am able to address any challenge.   When I’m facing manipulation I am able to counter with compassion.  I am able to understand that there’s far more to the situation than I am aware.  Compassion is followed by forgiveness.

There are games for which I enjoy and some I would rather avoid.  No matter the origin of the game it is love that will bring the win.
