Under The Influence. Blog #323.

As I move through life I have an opportunity to be both an influencer and/or to be influenced.  If I allow myself to be influenced, it will inevitably happen.

Technology is amazing in so many ways, but we have to be careful that we understand when we are being influenced.  Options are endless for AI, but do we fully understand the ramifications of what we think we are viewing?  Are we able to use technology for the good and at the same time understand when we are being influenced?

The key to this is keeping a clear perspective.  Understand that we are being tempted with images and words daily that require us to do our homework on almost every issue or image we encounter.

The same is true with our life as a friend of Jesus.  We can lead by example, through love, trust, compassion, and kindness to all.  Accepting all that the Lord asks us to endure as we walk through life.

Taking Jesus out of the equation opens the door for evil to deceive us.  If we are not careful our goodness is taken over by negative forces.  When feelings of anger begin to build within and I find myself thinking unkind thoughts, I quickly switch my perspective.

Stopping mid-thought I take a deep breath, focus on prayer, and rework my thoughts to love and trust in Jesus.  I stop the negative influences and take hold of my faith.  Searching to regain my inner peace, I focus on love.

What if the hard times we are going through are leading us to something greater?  Maybe all that is weighing us down and giving us the feeling of drowning or not succeeding (anger, anxiety, stress, worry, clutter, chaos, etc.) are negative forces fighting against us in their final hours before Jesus returns.  We don’t know the timing, but we do know that we are irresistible to Jesus if we live our lives with love.

When dealing with problems show persistence and keep striving for the perfect state of mind.  No matter the length of time stay focused on love.  Lead by example and influence with love and truth.

Dr. Issam Nemeh encourages us to, “Be a gateway to heaven.”  Make a decision to permanently be open to love, truth, compassion, and kindness.

I strive to stay under the influence of truth, love, and Jesus.
