Normally I am very discrete about my faith and the power of prayer, to me, it is very personal.  In my lifetime I have never before seen an epidemic like we are experiencing.  I have been observing an outpouring of prayers over the past few weeks that I have not witnessed from non-church-related activities. 

These prayers are abundant and people are offering them publicly.  We are witnessing an outpouring of prayers.  It is because of what I’ve seen over the past few weeks throughout our community, our state, our nation, and the world, that I take a step outside of my comfort zone and write this blog.

Recently I heard Dr. Issam Nemeh, a physician, scientist, and man of faith, speak on the power of everyone focusing on one thing – prayer.  He stated that the season is here, now, and the purpose is prayer.   

One of the key factors that I took away from Dr. Nemeh’s talk was that we have an obligation to pray this virus away.  The power of prayer works.

Everyone may not have the faith to prevent the virus, but we have the power of prayer.  We have the ability to fight this evil virus with prayers that the virus will vanish and the strength of our faith will prevail.   We are witnessing so many powerful examples of how the power of prayer has led to healings, thank you, Jesus! 

Over the last few weeks, a delightful woman in her 30s who lives in our neighborhood has fought back from being on a ventilator.  This particular woman had people praying for her from all over the world.  People from her church, her relatives, people from our neighborhood, and more than 100,000 people over social media were praying for her.  The prayers were heard and our neighbor is recovering well.  I hear and read countless stories regarding the strength and power of united prayer defeating this virus.

The time is here to pray for your friends, family, and those who are working in our necessary industries, our medical professionals.  Reach out to those you have not connected with for some time.  Call those who are older and might need assistance or simply a friendly voice. 

The power of collective prayer is unstoppable.  People praying for a common cause.  Prayer can fight this virus if we unite together in prayer to eliminate this epidemic.  Please continue to pray for COVID-19 to vanish worldwide and for EVIL to disappear.

I have been and prefer to be “in the closet” about prayer.  However, the time is right to open the door, come out of the closet, and pray for this virus to vanish.  The time is right to be a prayer warrior.  The time is now to fight this virus with united prayer. 

Our prayers are heard.  There is strength in numbers.  No matter your style of prayer we all can make a difference in healing the world.
