What Would Jesus Say? Blog #238.

When I find myself questioning what to do in a particular situation, I think about what Jesus would say.  Somehow everything seems much simpler when I try to see the situation from his perspective.

As I am contemplating a decision, I ask myself if Jesus would approve of how I am dealing with the situation.  It only takes a few seconds for me to determine if he would approve.  When I start negotiating with myself it is time to develop another plan!

When things are difficult at home, I ask myself what Jesus would say about my parenting.  Am I speaking to and treating my children with kindness? Am I treating them fairly or am I taking my stress out on them?

I try to step away from the situation so that I think before I react.  Would Jesus say I am creating the problem at home?  After making a quick evaluation I often find myself asking for forgiveness.  On the rare occasion that I am not part of the problem, I think about what Jesus would say to my children.

Jesus would attack the problem from the perspective of love, right?  I believe he would solve the issue with compassion in mind.  Forgiveness is granted with reasonable consequences for their actions.

Things quickly fall into place when I ask myself if Jesus would approve of my priorities in life.  Am I putting my faith first and allowing it to be my guide?  Are love and compassion a priority and visible as I walk through life?

Am I working too long or too hard instead of working smart?  If I am not working outside the home am I serving my family or others?  What would Jesus say regarding my work ethic?

One simple question that helps resolve so many issues. What would Jesus say?
