Get Over It With Love. Blog #411.

Paraphrasing from a monthly Zoom call with Dr. Issam Nemeh, we need to get over it, get over ourselves, and get out of our own heads using our love.  Taking our love, prayer, and forgiveness and putting them into action.

Daily prioritizing living with a perspective of love.  A kind of love that allows us to look at all things with kindness and compassion.  When we love the Lord and our neighbors as written in the Commandments, we are better able to navigate the chaos in the world and focus on what helps us maintain peace as we move through life.  Keeping in mind the importance of caring about others more than ourselves.

My favorite quote of the week (author unknown), “I ask Jesus to allow me to see what he sees in each person I encounter.”  When I see a glimpse of the perspective Jesus sees, it is much easier to get over it, with love.

A beautiful way to start the process is to pray for others as we move through our day.  Not only praying for our friends and family and those who share our values, but also for those who have harmed us in some way.

Forgiveness might come easily to some of us, but for others, it is very difficult to let go of past issues and hurtful memories.  Compassion allows us to better understand the perspective of others.  It paves the way to moving forward freely without the weight of past issues.  Once we forgive, it is important to pray for those we have forgiven.

Believing in Jesus, having faith, living with love, being prayerful, and forgiving are all beautiful.  The next step is to put those beautiful things into action.  Daily putting the needs of others before your own.  Finding joy in simple acts of kindness that create a ripple effect among others.

The holiday season is the perfect time to get over it, with love!
