Follow. Blog #451.

I know what I want, what I think, and how I feel, but I follow Jesus.  My future goals are not something I spend time pondering.  My focus is on serving.  Living in the moment, I allow myself flexibility to alter any plans for the day.

Decision-making is something I do well, but I give control to Jesus.  I know what I want, but rarely feel a need to have my way or to own things.  My mind has thoughts and opinions, but I follow Jesus.  I have feelings that sometimes make it difficult to do what I know I am to accomplish, but I push through.

I follow Jesus because I know that it is the best path for my future.  Not because it will be easy, prevent me from suffering, or bring me more material possessions.  Life as a follower of Jesus is not without trials.  But faith allows one to travel through the trials knowing that Jesus has a plan for us.

The enemy attacks abundantly when we serve Jesus.  As believers, we have a secret weapon: peace.  As we give control to Jesus, our peace strengthens.  When I take back control and start to allow stress and worry into my life, my sense of peace disappears.

As my peace vanishes, I know that I am on the wrong path.  Sometimes I will get a pit in my stomach; other times I simply lose my ability to move through issues with love and compassion.  That is when I know I need to reconnect with Jesus.  I move to prayer.

In prayer, I thank Jesus for moving me through all life’s trials and ask for guidance on moving forward toward my intended path

I still want, think, and feel, but I choose to follow Jesus.
