Security. Blog #216.

As I spend time with one of my favorite people in this world I see the depth and importance security plays in our lives.  I see someone who no longer knows anyone or anything around, yet when facing high levels of fear know to cry out to Jesus.

I somehow find comfort in knowing that when everything is out of control within the mind of this person they instinctively rely on and remember their faith.  At the height of frustration comes prayer.

The unknown can make us feel insecure.  Our minds can trick us into thinking various negative thoughts.  We can find ourselves nervous and worried about many things.  It is my faith that has proven to be my strength and what has allowed me to feel safe.

When I face the unknown I pray that I will be guided down my intended path.  When I feel insecure I ask Jesus for reassurance that I am doing the right thing.

As negative thoughts enter my mind I turn off that line of thinking and direct my thoughts to love.  The simple change of thought process fosters a safe and loving environment.

The more nervous and worried we become the less secure we feel.  I had to teach myself to give my worries to Jesus.

When I am unsure, nervous, or worried about something I pray and ask Jesus to take my worries and show me my path.  There are times when I give away my worry and it creeps right back into my mind.  The moment I feel the worry enter my thoughts, I give it away to Jesus again.  I then listen for a solution and direction regarding the issue.

Being nervous about the unknown, negative thoughts, and being worried all hinder our ability to feel safe.  Prayer provides a path to rid ourselves of those challenging thoughts.  I gladly give my worries to Jesus and am grateful for the security I feel from my faith.
