Life is much easier to navigate when I take responsibility for my actions and words. I figure I am at least 50% to blame for the issues that arise in my life. Very often guilty about contributing much more when I am not careful.
There are many issues I create that I don’t even know that I have created until it is too late. Even worse are the issues I have created that I am unaware of and have few ways to rectify.
Included in my prayers is a request to make me aware of areas in which I have sinned or been hurtful. I often find things enter my mind as quick thoughts or pictures from my past.
I review these things, take responsibility for them, ask for forgiveness from Jesus, and pray I don’t make that error again. Upon occasion I am able to address the issue with the people involved, apologizing and asking for forgiveness.
Then there are the times when I am stretched so thin that I forget to analyze the issue without judgment. At work, I am very good at evaluating the situation from all perspectives, but at home with those close to me sometimes I forget to simply listen without judgment.
It would be helpful to me at home if there was a signal that indicated a problem ahead. Family and friends, raise the red flag before speaking about your issues. Let me mentally get prepared and tune into Jesus.
We all know that it is unrealistic to be forewarned about every issue. My solution is to always be tuned into Jesus. To be living every moment in a state of peace ready to face issues with love.
At work, I am ready for problems. Most of my career has been centered around solving issues. I know that I must communicate without judgment and with appropriate voice tone and facial expressions. If I can handle issues with kindness at work, I certainly am capable of continuing that kindness at home.
It is my responsibility to communicate without judgment. I desire to communicate with love and kindness. Success comes with living for Jesus.
