Your Word This Year. Blog #312.

I have numerous friends who have chosen a word to carry them through the current year.  A word that will inspire them to get closer to what they hope to accomplish.  Something that will help remind them and center them on what is most important in their lives.

I don’t choose a word every year.  However, I do annually evaluate things that I need to refine.  I feel inspired this year to choose the word focus.

The word focus is important to me because I have set the foundation for what I would like to achieve, but I need to refine each of those areas.  I have spent a great deal of time being thankful, prayerful, and filling my heart with love.  Now it’s time for me to focus; hence, my word for this year.

I am choosing to focus because I need to fine-tune all the things that I have been learning and move them to the next level.  Inner peace is maintained with each one of my priorities but now it’s time to strengthen my focus.  It’s time to refine my priorities so that I am better focused throughout my life.

I am looking forward to a time when I never have to think about my priorities.  A time when I change focus for my purpose, not because of the noise of my environment.  Falling off track is something that happens to me daily, but I am committed to Jesus and to living with inner peace.

Instead of challenging myself to gain strength in numerous areas at once, I choose to develop one priority at a time.  When I feel peace with the priority I add another item to develop and refine.  Never loading my plate too full, always giving myself a chance to succeed.

With much effort and practice, I have become aware of when I lose my focus.  This is the year that I intend to block out the noise and get laser-focused on Jesus.
