Spring Cleaning. Blog #329.

Spring inspires us to clean up the yard and prepare the house for a beautiful summer.  Just as we prepare our environment we also have to prepare ourselves.  A dusting off of all the cobwebs that we have let settle in our minds.  Making repairs on any damaged thinking we have let move into our brains.

Often we are unnecessarily anxious about our future.  Working overtime trying to control things that we believe are important to our growth and success.  Worry and stress start to cloud our vision.  Our wants escalate and become dangerous to our mental well-being.

Cleaning our minds of all the clutter helps us decipher our priorities and allows us an opportunity to live in the moment.  My faith is my priority and everything else in my life falls into place because I trust Jesus.

I use prayer instead of a stress ball.  Every time stress and worry enter my life I clean up the mess through prayer.  I give my worries to Jesus and ask to be guided to solutions.  I listen for opportunity and direction and move forward until there is a roadblock.

When there is a cross in the road I ask Jesus to guide me.  I move in one direction and listen for clues that indicate peace within my body.  If my stomach is in knots I ask Jesus to guide me and change my course.

Living in the moment helps to center my mind on what task is most important.  Not allowing myself to get caught up in the future, always trying to make the most of the present.  I have surrendered to Jesus.  He knows my future.  I am content living out each day because I know his plan for me is much better than mine!

An important part of living in the moment is being content with what you have.  If we are jealous of others it is difficult to be happy with ourselves or our lives.  When we are at peace with who we are opportunities become more abundant.

It is important to take the time to evaluate yourself and your environment.  I am a work in progress and have much cleaning to do.

Happy spring and enjoy the cleaning!
